Profiled X Accounts
Most accounts arrive as a blank shell: default picture, no bio, an empty timeline. A few batches come set up instead. One is sold as a fully profiled NFT-themed account with 2FA and token; another already has random posts on its timeline. You start from a profile that looks used.

Why a filled profile helps
Someone deciding whether to reply or follow back glances at the photo and bio first. A default avatar with nothing under it reads as a throwaway, whatever the account is for.
The persona is not yours yet
The name, bio and posts were made up by the supplier to fill the page. If the account will speak for you or a brand, rewrite the bio and delete posts that do not fit before anyone relies on it.
Read the timeline before your first post

Why the mailbox decides recovery
X sends reset links and sign-in codes to the address on the account. Whoever controls that mailbox can get the account back, so it is the one credential you want in hand from the first minute.
The mailbox has its own checks
Microsoft may ask for a verification step when the mailbox is opened from a new place. That comes from the mail provider, not from a fault in the X account. Complete it, then add your own recovery details to the mailbox too.
Open the mailbox before X
Sign in to the mailbox first and confirm new mail arrives, then sign in to X. If X sends a code, you are already looking at the inbox it lands in. Report a mailbox that will not open inside the 24-hour window on the card.

Why verification history helps
An account that has passed a phone check once has already cleared a step X uses on new sign-ups. Some tools and ad settings look for that before they let an account in.
What you do not get
The SIM. You cannot receive codes on the number used for verification, so keep the account's 2FA and mailbox under your control; those are your way back in.
Add your own recovery once you are in
After the first sign-in, set a recovery method you control and save the 2FA key in your password manager. Change one security setting at a time and confirm you can still sign in after each.
- Do I get the phone number?
- No. Phone verified means the account passed a check with a number. The number is not delivered and you cannot receive codes on it.
- What if X asks for a phone again?
- It can, on any account. Phone verification in the past does not prevent a new check. Use your own number if one is requested.
